Packrafting First Descent in the Heart of New Zealand's Wild Southern Alps

With bags packed, these packrafters marched 35km from Whataroa, New Zealand to find Ice Lake, the source of their whitewater ambitions. Their efforts were well worth the climb as they loaded their packrafts up and headed down the Bulter River, navigating stunning deep west coast gorges, spectacular scenery, and plenty of rowdy whitewater.
