The Removable Fin improves tracking and is especially useful on deep lakes, bays, inlets, and flat water. Tracking fins help you paddle straighter for long distance or on windy days. We recommend not using a fin while paddling on a river or in shallow conditions.

We have 2 styles of fins: Slide In and Click in. Both are only compatible with the corresponding Skeg Box/Fin Plate.

The 9in and 5in slide in fins work with the US Standard Fin Plate which comes standard on our 2020-2023 XPD, Twain, Chasm-Lite SUP, Moki Kayak and Platte Kayaks.

The 4.5in click in fin works for the new XPD and Twain-Lite Packraft.

If your packraft does not have a Skeg Box/Fin Plate and you would like to add one, please purchase a Skeg Box and the corresponding fin.

Q&A

My wife and I have each had Kokopelli pack rafts for 4 or 5 years, mainly running rivers. I have gotten sled plates and 5” fins and the required glue. Obviously we will center the skeg equidistant from each side, but is there a recommended distance from the stern tip for locating the skeg?
If you are gluing on a fin plate, you want it to be as far back as possible before the stern curves up on the floor.
Can you add this to the XPD?
The XPD comes with a 9in fin and the US standard fin plate. So yes you can grab an extra fin if you lose or break yours.
What models is this compatible with?
Hey James, We have 3 fins. The small 4in one works for older Twain packrafts and our new Twain Lite. Then we have a 9in fin with teeth for 1 year of our Moki's. Lastly we have the slide in 9in fin that fits our XPD, Twain, Moki, Platte and Chasm Lite. If you still need more help, email us a picture of your fin box and we can make sure we get you the right fin.
