An invitation to the bikerafting community
"I found this book when I was early in my bikerafting journey. Already an experienced hard boater, I was familiar with the dry and text book style of most paddling instruction books. This book is something different. The mix of adventure stories and clear how to descriptions shares the basics along side inspiration from the spirit of bikerafting. I have the first edition, and am tempted to buy this newer one with more stories from women! This book is perfect for all the people who want to try bikerafting but don’t have someone local to show them the basics, and get them planning fun bikerafting adventures."

"This well written book is likely the best single source guide and inspiration for any aspiring bikerafter out there. I was just getting into packrafting and wanted to learn more about incorporating my love for cycling with my love for rafting. This answered all of my questions and inspired me to get started. Five stars!"

In Response to Julia S, from the author.
"Hey there Julia S. , I was super disheartened to read your short and very non-explanatory review of the book my husband and I wrote, and that The Bike Snob author, editor Eben Weiss edited. It is a bummer you didn't like it. But I think you might have missed the point. It IS the history of and wild adventure stories about bikerafting. And saying it's poorly written. . . well, wow. There are literally dozens of professional writers who contributed stories that were very meaningful to them, and that are actually meaningful to the history of bikerafting. So you're literally saying that all these 50 or so contributors, who make up the actual history of bikerafting, all suck. Plus, a huge chunk of the book is actually a how-go guide, gleaned from dozens of those packrafters. And Steve is a professional adventure photographer who has published in books and magazines, etc, so his and the dozens of other photos, illustrations, the poem, all that, done by professionals, suck? I just felt I had to reply to your post. I just feel that you couldn't have possibly read it. And if you really think all those people suck, so be it. I definitely don't. I thoroughly enjoyed spending an entire year of my life interviewing these folks, doing the first edits of their stories, gathering their photos, etc. It was one of the most magical experiences of my life. Best wishes, Lizzy Scully"
