Panama
In Panama's jungles, where the road simply stops, a crew embarks on a transcontinental journey from the Pacific to the Caribbean by hiking, packrafting, camping and discovers that every river line they draw across the map is matched by one they're quietly redrawing in themselves.
Beneath the adventure is a deeper story. The Mamoní Valley Preserve sits at the narrowest point of the Americas, one of the world’s most important wildlife corridors and biodiversity hotspots where water splits toward two oceans and more than 1,600 documented species share a single watershed. It is also home to the Gunayala, whose relationship to this land stretches back long before any trail was drawn.
More than an adventure film, Panama New Lines is as much about the lines that connect people, cultures, biodiversity, and conservation.
The concept of New Lines is with a packraft, you can draw a straight line across any map. Historically a straight is usually interrupted by a body of water. But packrafts allow you to navigate across or down them easily allowing you to connect lines.
