Inspired by an infamous 2017 Kokopelli raft, the new 2024 Kokopelli Rodeo is built to get rowdy. Packed with new material technologies, an advanced whitewater design (AWD), and over 12 years of manufacturing expertise, the Rodeo is a boat that sets the modern standard of whitewater packraft performance.
At the core of AWD is a new 5-panel construction with increased waterline that enables fast straight-line speed and quick edge-to-edge transitions. A brand-new advanced whitewater rocker profile (AWRP) incorporates an aggressive bow design allowing you to boof bigger hits and surf steeper faces all while keeping your hair dry. The stern features an increased surface area, and increased loading, helping to clear retentive features. Lastly, the AWD Advanced Floor is a product of the hybrid-hull design and vertical I-Beam inflatable floor. This combination provides a smooth transition from primary to secondary stability and allows you aggressively carve waves and eddies.
Brand new to the packrafting world, the Rodeo features space age ultralight, 210D, Kevlar™ reinforced TPU sidewalls. Kevlar brand fibers help offer puncture, abrasion, and tear resistance. The Rodeo floor is made of industry leading 840D Kevlar ™ TPU. All kitted out, the Rodeo weighs in at an impressive 12.6lbs (5.7kg).
The Rodeo is rated for class IV+ whitewater and is the most advanced packraft on the market. It's the closet you can get in performance to a traditional hard sided whitewater kayak as possible, but at 1/4 the weight.
If you are new to whitewater packrafting we recommend starting with our Nirvana or Recon series packrafts. The Nirvana and Recon are more stable with a pontoon style hull and great for class 1 to 3-4 rapids. The Rodeo isn’t as stable with the curved hull design but once you get the hang of it, the Rodeo will take you for the ride if your life.

Closest thing to a kayak
"I bought this from Backcountry. com and was so impressed I had to leave a review over there and directly here too. Last summer I paddled this at the packraft gathering in Idaho as well as 2 other packrafts from Alpacka. The Valkyrie and the Mage were great, but the Rodeo is far superior. It was more comfortable, more maneuverable and responsive and out performed the Alpacka boats. If you are looking to get the best packraft and closest thing to a normal hardshell kayak the Rodeo is the boat for you! "With this boat, you can really let it rip! The bow rocker rides up and over all the river’s speed bumps, keeping you high and dry. The cross section rocker allows for quick edge transitions and great secondary stability. The raised seating position gives you verticality in your stroke. A vertical stroke is a powerful stroke!
