Review of new twain-lite

"The twain-lite kayak truly is light weight, making it simple to pack for traveling in a small van and carrying in general. It would be BETTER and easier with carrying handles - it’s light, but long enough to be awkward when inflated. I’d suggest the valve be at the front of the boat so a person could monitor the air pressure while boating. It’s a little more complicated (for me) to inflate fully and keep the air consistent. I installed the Trib gauge, but can’t see it while kayaking. Another suggestion would be a larger skeg for easier tracking with an attached locking piece like on the Aquaglide inflatables. First time out in shallow water, it released and dropped out. Since, I’ve tightened the screws but that is annoying. These are easy, small improvements that would make the kayak even better. Otherwise, my husband and I are very happy!"

Great packraft except for the backband

"I've had a Rogue Lite for seven years and I love it, but I've thinking for some time about buying a longer packraft, to get more speed and to carry an ocassional passenger. I considered several options, like the Alpacka Zephyr or the MRS Nomad, but I finally decided for the Twain Lite because of my experience with the Rogue Lite. I bought it through Kanu Online and I received it at the end of April. I had a three day weekend because of the 1st of May. The sea was not in its best mood with 1 metre waves, but I have paddled in similar conditions with the Rogue Lite, so I started my Twain Lite's maiden trip. . . One of the criticisms of this packraft in reviews is the design of the backband and its attachments to the boat, and I found that is absolutely true: if you tighten them enough for the bakband to stay in its place, the packraft sags right behind the paddler's back. The crease is almost in the waterline and it's like an invitation for the waves that catch the stern to get into the cockpit. . . ¡and they do!. The Spanish word for cockpit of a kayack or sailing dinghy is "bañera", which also means "bathtube". . . Spanish idiom is wise, because 15 minutes after paddling with one metre waves following me, the cockpit looked like a bathtub, completely full of water. At least, even seriously overloaded, the Twain Lite kept moving and still felt responsive. I decided to ditch the backband, and I imporvised a new bakcrest by placing my dry bag between me and the stern complementing it with an inflatable seat from an old Sevylor boat. The result was wonderful: the boat didn't sag, I felt confortable and the Twain Lite could release its full potential, which is a lot. It behaved beautifully, even with one metre waves, and my subjetive impression is that it's fater than the Rogue Lite. After three days paddling it, my conclusion is that the Twain Lite is a grat packraft and it would be even better if the backband design issues were corrected. Kokopelli, ¿what are you waiting for?"

Perfect for kid fishing in lakes.

"Over this design is fantastic. This boat packs smaller and tracks significantly straighter than I expected. I was a bit surprised that paddle strokes aren’t weird even though the boat is a lot wider than a hard shell. It was also quite a bit faster than I expected. I mostly got this to get my girls into fishing. It is a 10 out of 10 for backcountry lake fishing with a 5 and 7 year old. Spin fishing with one kid in the bow works great. Trolling with a kayak is weird and maybe not the best. The only complaints are, the fin was gone on our test run and the seat belt ends weren’t treated. They frayed and I had to burn them."

Great Twain boat

"We changed the order and it’s a Twain that I use for the Sodog and I to paddle with. Had it the river this week and it’s nice to cruise around with. Sodog approved. Picture is from a lake by the house."

Great size. Wish they would make a Kevlar version

"I own a rogue lite and this twain lite. I love the size of the twain lite, but I wish they made a version with the Kevlar floor for durability. Would have been nice if the fin fit e motors too. I knew this noat lacked these features going in, but the size perfectly checked some other boxes their other boats do not. I have not had a chance to use it yet but I hope it tracks better amd glides better than my rogue lite. I did not get the regular twain with the Kevlar floor because I figured it would not track any better than mybrogue lite."

Def stoked

"Got this for flat water stuff in Alaska specifically for bringing the child with us. Great stable boat. Light enough for our applications so far. Easy to setup. Stoked on the extra space for kid."
